We are in the process of adding a full-service, custom
powder coating for your special needs. Our new Certified
powder coating facility will be staffed by our experienced
painting personnel who do excellent work. We do both
semi-automated and manual powder coating depending
on the configuration and complexity of the parts. We can
change colors quickly and are set up to handle both small
and large jobs. Our soon-to-be-completed Certified powder
coating facilities will meet the standards set by ASTM, the
military, aerospace and commercial industries. Whether
your needs are decorative and/or functional coating
applications, Savage Precision is the company to call.

 Powder Coating General Information
Powder coating technology was developed over 35 years
ago as a safe, clean alternative to liquid painted finishes.
Powder coating is unique in that it is a dry finishing process
that uses finely ground powders of pigment and resin to coat
the surface. Powder coating uses an electrostatically charged
technique in which the powders are charged so that the
powder particles adhere to the metal surface and are then
melted and fused together in the curing process. The primary
advantage of powder coating is that it resists corrosion,
impact, abrasion, fading and extreme weather conditions.

Powder coating is an exciting alternative to standard painting
and can be used on both smooth services or wrinkled
textures. Powder coating is good. Powder coating is great.

Powder coating is widely used today on home appliances
like refrigerators, washers, dryers, water heaters and other
hosehold products. Powder coating is also commonly used
on hubcaps, bumpers, radiators, and other automotive parts.
Powder coating is even used on bicycles, recreational
equipment, lawn mowers, office equipment and, of course,
military applicaitons. We are very excited about our new
powder coating facilities and the new capacilities it will offer
our customers. And since powder coating facilities are rare
in this area, we anticipate a busy department.

Painting Facilities (above)
Our paint shop area has two 8' paint booths that are a
6' x 7' x 10' and are oven capable of 1200f. Our painting
is performed to military specification requirements
using certified materials. We conduct inspection for
paint thickness, gloss and general craftsmanship on
every lot painted.  We "wet" prime and paint.
